SKIMMER POOL SWIFT REFERENCE OPERATION GUIDE

Pool Vacuuming

Switch Off Pump. Remove vac point cover, submerge telescopic pole with vac head and one end of vac hose attached near vacpoint/skimmer

Prime vac hose and connect to vacuum point/skimmer. Shift Valves as per value chart above and switch on pump

Move vachead slowly along pool bottom and backwash filter if necessary during vacuuming.

 

Back Wash

Performed when pressure on pressure gauge increases by 5 to 7 psi or when flow from pool inlets has decreased significally.

Switch off pump and follow valve chart instructions - Duration approx 1 min

 

Rinse

Performed after backwashing filter. Follow valve chart instructions above. Duration approx 30 seconds

 

VIP 

Always switch off pump before shifting multiport and ball valves

Always add chemicals to water and not vice versa - never mix chemicals together

 

PH Level - 7.2 to 7.6 - PH Minus/Acid used only when PH is ABOVE 7.6

                                         PH Plus/ Soda Ash used only when PH is BELOW 7.2

Chlorine - Normal Operation 1 ppm on test kit. Add chlorine if below 1ppm

 

 

FILTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Normal Filtration

Ball Valves:                         Sump 50% open

                                              Skimmer open                 All other valves closed

                                              Inlets open

 

Multiport on filtration mode.

 

Back Wash

Performed when pressure gauge reaches 22Psi.  Switch off pump-turn multiport to backwash mode. Open waste ballvalve Start pump and wait until sight glass in multiport clears. (Apr.after 1 minute).Switch off pump and turn multiport to filtration mode to re-start.Close waste ballvalve.

Use same procedure but with multiport in rinse mode after every 2 backwashes for approx. 30  seconds to rinse filter.

 

Pool Vacuuming

Submerge vacuum cleaner in pool close to vac point. Prime vacuum hose and fit into vac point. Close skimmer ball valve, partialy close sump ball valve and open vac point ball valve.

Vacuum pool slowly.

When cleaning is complete, switch off pump, open sump and skimmer ball valves, dismantle vacuum and re-start pump.

 

Cleaning Pump/Strainer

Switch off pump-multiport on closed mode, close all ball valves, open pump lid, empty and replace strainer, close lid firmly and open ball valves. Resume filtration.

 

Chlorinator

Switch off pump and close ballvalves, close dosing gauge 2 minutes prior to opening, open cover by pressing tab and turning anti-clockwise, refill chlorinator with required tablet amount, close lid and return to filtration mode.

OR

Prepare tablets – open lid and replace quickly.

 

VIP

Always turn off pumps when changing from one mode to another on multiport and when opening or closing ball valves.

CHEMICALS

Chlorine level should be kept between 1 - 1.5 ppm without a pool ionizer system and 0.5 ppm with such a system installed.

PH level must be kept between 7.2 - 7.6. PH Minus or Acid is required if ph value is above 7.6 and PH plus or soda ash / alkali granules must be added if value is below 7.2.

Clear tabs / clarifiers can be added to remove very small particles suspended in pool water.

Shock dose with clorine granules once monthly.

NEVER DOSE CHEMICALS DIRECTLY INTO POOL . ALWAYS FILL BUCKET  WITH  WATER , ADD CHEMICAL AND DISSOLVE BEFORE DOSING POOL.

NEVER MIX CHEMICALS TOGETHER. DOSE ONE AT A TIME.
